Fans can be installed in one pipe only. This is usually done in an exhaust air duct. Another advantage of mechanical ventilation is the independence of the system from weather conditions. In any case, the room will be quickly drained and maintaining the necessary humidity in it will not be difficult.
Supply ventilation can be organized not only with the help of a fan. Can be used:

- Low-power light bulb – minion. It improves the quality of air exchange due to the heated flows.

An organized natural ventilation system may not be sufficient in the following cases:
- A large cellar area (more than 40 m?). In this case, in the frosty season, the exhaust pipe can be completely closed by frost, formed due to the frozen condensate. As a result, the movement of air is significantly reduced and becomes insufficient for the organization of the correct microclimate. If a basement with such an area is divided into separate rooms and pipes are installed in each, then mechanical ventilation will not be necessary.
- Natural air exchange will not be enough if you plan to equip a workshop or a mini-gym in the garage cellar. With the supply of a sufficient amount of oxygen, only the fans can handle.
- Air movement with blowers will be required if you plan to store a large amount of supplies. If vegetables are stored in the cellar, the exhaust device will still struggle with an unpleasant smell.
